First Day of School

Thursday, January 21, 2021

Assalamualaikum. Hai guys.

I pray everyone is doing fine and in a good health, physical and mental.

Today, the TV announced PKP in Selangor will be extended to February 4th.

This year, I have few more subjects i have to teach in addition of previous years - PJK and Pendidikan Seni. Last year, I was glad because these two didnt make it into my schedule. This year, nope. I dont like them by the way haha.

1. I know no sports

2. I hate dislike arts. Arts and me cannot be friends.

Okay, that put aside; my first class of the year wasnt a bed of roses.

Thinking about it just made me feel like i totally failed myself haha

First day was given to class teacher to conduct the briefing session, so no online class on the first day.

The haywires on my first class ;

i. started a bit late

ii. laptop cannot connect to hotspot (guys, my laptop usually dont have this problem)

iii. pupils talk to each other merrily despite me non stop saying please turn off your mic (wait till they see me in real haha)

iv. the audios of shared videos arent working

v. pupils chatting again

vi. laptop hang (it picked the best time to hang)

vii. phone hang for seconds (pls iPhone dont embarass urself)

At the end of the session, we all have to sing the Asmaul Husna, state and school song but i only managed to make them nasyid the asmaul husna. The rest are good byes. I couldnt open the prepared video and i was clueless.

Class done and i checked the whatsapp group and realised im not alone in this

-  a teacher had to drive to school pronto when the internet suddenly not working

- a teacher started class at 10 am + due to lagging in wifi

- a teacher didnt load all the songs in the class, lagging as well

- a teacher cancelled the morning class and rescheduled to 2pm

- and wifi lag some more haha

Online classes aint easy. thinking of those less fortunate with no gadgets to access the class, no wifi, no facilities, inconvenient home etc. Allahuakbar

Wait, looking on the other side of the coin is - im grateful for still having a job to attend to, earning monthly salary, have some food on the table. Alhamdulillah. This rant is just purely me, sharing my day :)

This covid thingy is really haunting all of us in this whole wide world and no exemptions. May Allah take away this virus from us sooner.

Day 1 of 2021

Friday, January 01, 2021

Bismillah. Assalamualaikum everyone.

Alhamdulillah syukur. Thank you Allah.

Today is the first day of the new year.

So.. what are my new year resolution? Recycle from previous year? haha

One significant thing with every passing year is we get older and hopefully a wiser and a better person.

I remember a year, early 2019 if Im not mistaken. The year  turned 2017. I felt upset. On the new year eve, I went to Surau Maryam and stayed there until Isyak or so. I felt i was a failure at that time, failing at many aspects in life.

But this year, everything is overwhelming.

I thanked Allah for every single hope and kindness and blessings He showered.

I learned that in all, we have to live for the day.

Anxiety comes when we hoped for something to happen, or wait for something and it doesnt come or get accomplished as we expected. In the end, we felt that we are somewhat not useful and feeling bad for ourselves.

Over the years, of course I learned many new things, experienced a bundle of ups and downs in life and i believed the last part i stated in the poster is absolutely all that matters.

We actually want a peaceful soul, not having grudge, jealousy or anything of equal.

I Love School Gombak 2021

Monday, December 28, 2020

Assalamualaikum. Hope everyone is doing fine inshaAllah.

Yesterday, I joined the program of giving out school supplies and donations to those who are less fortunate around Gombak, precisely in Hulu Klang.

I was in Team B, and we had to reach out to 5 houses and one of them wasnt available, so we managed to deliver the donation to four kids.

7.50 am : Departed from home

8.05 am : Arrived in Pusat Tarbiyah dan Dakwah HK

8.30 am : Breakfast with yummy nasi lemak & trip briefing

9.00 am : Started the journey, straight to the first house

11.00 am : Done with all 4 houses

11.30 : Home sweet home. Nap time haha

Enjoy the pics :)

House 1

This house in Kemensah. Orphaned kiddos, single mom with 5 small kids and this one is the eldest. You have to turun bukit  a bit and vehicles cannot reach this house.

House 2

Parents are not at home when we arrived. The mom is a small scale tailor with 5 kids and dad lost his job due to the pandemic.

House 3

Granddad as representative because the family wasnt home. Single mom with two kiddos.

House 4

Shahir and Aina. Very nice, soft spoken and respect the elders. Single mom of 8. Sells aiskrim malaysia for a living.

Since this is the last house, we took some time for pep talks.

Yup, that's all. This is an annual program for Nisa' Gombak and usually I cant join because Im always at hometown when this took place, end of year. This time around, the school holidays are a bit shifted and so i could join alhamdulillah.

Alhamdulillah 'ala kulli hal.

Buku Diari Abah

#DiariAbah

Rupanya, kad manila tu nak guna minggu depan. Anak cakap nak esok sebab kengkawan semua nak beli malam tu terus.

Guru yang dipersalahkan. Rupa-rupanya berlaku miss communication.

Akhir sekali, Apa pun pekerjaan kita, belajar lah sepanjang masa. Selagi hayat dikandung badan.

Wallahua’lam

Post MCO School Routine

Friday, October 16, 2020

Assalamualaikum.

Im gonna share how is schooling like post MCO, since July.

Teachers are given a weekly schedule/extra duty that they have to follow. I am on duty every Tuesdays.

My days on Tuesdays start like this..

7.15 am - 8.15 am :

Be at school earlier, to take the kids' temperature and patrolling the classes. Repeating the same instructions over and over and over again to the kids haha like put on your mask, dont run around (almost impossible :D), dont go play at the toilet et cetera

There're five of us and we usually rotate, first taking the temperature, others are patrolling.. and we take turns.

Kids will queue to check theirs at the stand machine and I have to write down their reading. They have to pass the small paper to teachers on first period.

So, it will usually end at 8.15 the most, because we have to wait for the late comers.

Then, Quran teachers on the first period has to key in the temperature in the system. Parents will receive notifications if they installed the app.

me standing beside the temp. tool.
excuse the tudung.
tak menjadi pulak.
maklum la pagi-pagi nak cepat :p

3.50 - 5.15 p.m :

Then, before school ends teachers have to do the duty again, calling pupils' names, patrolling and the least favourite .. fogging.

The fogging must be done to all classes using the machine.

This extra duty once became an issue coz there were teachers who were not doing theirs *sigh*

Im not gonna say much but responsibility is responsibility no matter how boring that work is. Huhu. That is saying to me as well :)

But, honestly speaking when Tuesdays come.. it feels like.. alamak esok dah selasa ke hahaha

calling the kids' names

fogging. wait few minutes for it to activate

If there's a thing I love post MCO is we get to go back much earlier, at 4 p.m if we're not on duty.

That's a huge relief knowing that when the bell rings, yeah.. you can go straight home. No mengaji or biyadi class. Although this also means no extra gaji coming in.. emm takpe la haha.

Plus, the kids no longer have the pleasure eating together at the canteen. All meals are single packed and they have to eat in their own classes. Extra works for the canteen workers but no option. During the first month post mco, teachers' meals were also packed but when the covid cases decreased a little an considering the high cost, teachers can eat in buffet as usual.

I think that's all for now. Assalamualaikum :)
