Bismillah. Assalamualaikum 😊

Finally, it is the last day of the year. Had been through a lot. Tears, sweat and a taste of failure and success. Bittersweet memory.

Cant believe time flies at such pace. Time waits for no man.

My 2017 resolution lies in this piece of advice;

"My heart is at ease knowing that whatever is meant for me will never missed me, and whatever missed me is not meant for me" Imam As Syafiee

Some more i would remind myself;

When you put Allah at the highest rank, everything else falls second.

Always always be grateful. Have syukur a lot. And sabr too 😊

Keep positive!

May the coming year will bring a better me. Ameen.

The Kitchen Boy

Wednesday, December 27, 2017

I came across this video in You Tube which i don't want to lose sight of. I am yet to watch it, but i must.

It is about the murder of four Russian princesses and the family after being imprisoned in a secluded house away from their people.

There is a fictional book titled The Kitchen Boy in which the author recreated the scene of the final days of the royal family.

I managed to read the book twice, once during first year student and the second was during Masters study. I think i wrote about the book once, i'll try to find the link.

It was an engaging read. I enjoyed it so much both feeling thrilled and scared😢

The author nailed his work, the scene of the murder was illustrated in meticulous details you wouldnt want to remember but you keep imagining it.

How the princesses and the parents were locked up with the promise someone might come to rescue them which they already got prepared for it.

The night they were awaiting for months came when the soldier(or so) asked them to gather in a room at midnight, only to realise that there will be the crime scene.

I was startled to find out that this fictional book was based on a real story, a friend told. She learnt the subject in History. I was more than impressed.

After the first year, i tried to search for the book again but to no avail until recently.

I would buy the book if it is still in print.

Tonight, let's just get through this piece i stumbled on google.

I dedicated this to anybody who happens to find me here. This is for you :)

Dear friends,

Find balance in your life. Work hard but do not let work take over your life, you will lose yourself.

Love, but love for the right reasons.

Life is too short for anything mediocre.

Know who you are and know that you are worthy of reaching your dreams and that is never too late to start creating the life you have always dreamed of.

Do not compare yourself to others, that is just deadly. No two souls are the same. You are your own person, you are beautiful and you are unique.

Put your trust in the universe. Some things are just meant to happen, and some are not.

Let go of whatever is stealing your happiness, it could be hard but it is worth it.

Embrace change. Embrace life.

Everything happens for a reason, sometimes you just need to breathe, trust and let go.

Trip to Perak

Thursday, November 30, 2017

Assalamualaikum. As promised, here is my snap shots in Perak. Enjoy!

I went there accompanying Standard 5 students. I have been to Perak once when i was so small i couldnt remember. So, lets just think this is my first official trip to Perak.

We departed from school compound at 10 a.m, 2 buses. We went straight to our first destination, Lost World of Tambun. I only heard about it before and the name sounds good. Hence Im grateful to be there. Beforehand, we stopped for lunch at a nearby restaurant and prayed jamak qasar Zuhur and Asr prayer at a surau. The students changed clothes for swimming.

them thrilled for the pool

DESTINATION NO.1 : LOST WORLD OF TAMBUN

the entrance

We checked in into Lost World of Tambun at 3.30 pm and went out approximately 3.5 hours later. This is only my second time being at a theme park, first was in Mallaca, so allow me to make some comparisons. Mallaca Wet Land is far better. The pools in Tambun wasnt so good and i dont feel like going into the water. The pool area is somewhat small and not inviting (to me). So, i just sat there and stare hehe. One hour passed and suddenly it rained. I was somehow wet too.

2.5 hours passed before i knew there was  a petting zoo and amusement park behind the pool area. What a waste! I maximized the hour left by playing the thing that swirls up and down (so scary) + boarded a train to surround the place. Only then i realized there's plenty of enjoyable things at this place. No wonder the pool area is small because it accomodate many other exciting places to visit like Petting Zoo, Haunted House, Coffee Shop etc.

These are among the shots i took on the train surrounding the place.

DESTINATION NO.2 : PERAK MUSEUM

Emm, you should be well equipped with history. The most popular museum that i visited during school days was Terengganu. I went there multiple times i felt like a disloyal Kelantenese (because i've never been to its museum -_-).

them queuing up before entering

in case you wanna have a peek of the inside

I'm not sure if this is really the state stadium or if there's any other Perak Museum elsewhere because this one is so small, the size of four classrooms maybe. *oh, i forgot that the second level was on renovation mode.

my mom lived her childhood in this era - with this type of iron

There's one attraction point here located outside of the museum. See photo below.

can you see them lining up to enter the tunnel?
Everyone took the chance to pass through the air raid shelter and we end up getting out of the tunnel somewhere at the lower level. Forgot to snap the photo. That's it.

DESTINATION NO.3 : GUA TEMPURUNG

Last, we went to Gua Tempurung. I cant wait to see how does it looks like. We were inside the cave for about an hour headed by a ranger. this cave is over 400 million years old. Masha Allah. The ranger showed us many formations in the cave that are intriguing and scary too. hehe.  It lasted until 1 p.m. Everyone is fatigued and hoped the bus will arrive soon.

A short briefing

That marked the end of our 2D 1N trip to Perak. Alhamdulillah 'ala kulli hal.

We stayed at Tower Regency Hotel & Apartment, Ipoh for a night and i love the place. It is spacious and convenient :)

*hope i could stay there longer :p

See you again and Wassalam.

Why Blog?

Thursday, November 30, 2017

Bismillah.

The sole thing i loved about blogging is i dont know the audience(if there's any) unlike the social media we have now.

I could pour everything here to know that i can come back here one day to reminisce the past :)

I regretted i had not blog about my life during uni days. It must be wonderful and funny to walk again the road as a student.

I am the old person anybody would know before except i think am getting impatient. Im working on it actually :)

Recalled the day i first sign up for blogspot. Went to Azira, use her notebook and she helped with the stuffs. I was keen on writing but hasnt improved
That bland and boring me hehe.

English Vinglish

Saturday, November 11, 2017

I went to a coffee shop and ordered for Hot Espresso. She asked, single shot or double shot? And the memory of English Vinglish flew in.
I had to ask the same question, what's that single @ double shot mean.

I took single shot, paid and wait. When it's ready, i was staggered to see that it was only 1/4 of the paper cup.

Seeing me flustered, one staff came and ask if i needed anything. I requested her to add more hot  water + she advised me to put some sugar. Plus i asked her additional questions like how  actually the coffee is supposed to be hahaha. Thank you. (*a friend told, "anis you shouldn't ask so, but to me if you dont know a thing, just ask. No need to feel embarassed. Its not like we did anything wrong) Usually if i ordered for something like latte or mocha, of course this will come full to the brim. This is my first experience 🙂

*i googled and yeah, one shot equals 30ml average. Lesson learnt.

So, back to English Vinglish. You should watch it. It's an Indian movie full of lessons. A lady who went to UK and cant speak English. Once, she went to a nearby coffee shop and asked for coffee and was hugely humiliated for not knowing what to order in their terms huu.

I could rewind the scene many times but still have the sympathy.

Later, she enrolled into an English course at an institution and passed with flying colours, to her family's surprise.

Islam put knowledge at a premium standard and thus, it is our responsibility to seek and dig for it.

Percaya dan Berjaya

Thursday, October 26, 2017

Bismillah. Memandangkan malam ni free sikit, jadi nak kongsi pasal pengisian usrah hari Selasa lepas.
Tajuk usrah macam kat atas, disampaikan oleh Ustazah Fadhilah bt Yaakob.

penyampaian ustazah sangat best

Ni lah sebenarnya medan Allah nak cuci hati kita. Bersungguh iron baju, pakai tudung nak mai usrah/program. Kalu mai pulak, kena hulur duit infaq. Kalu dok rumah, tak perlu pun keluar duit.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kadang-kadang, mungkin kita pernah terlintas benda ni (memang pun);
“ kenapa aku beria-ia dan bersusah sangat, takde masa nak rilek, jeles tengok kawan-kawan atau orang lain. Orang lain balik kerja, rehat , boleh tengok cerita, santai-santai kat rumah. Kita, balik kerja siapkan anak, masak lepas tu siap-siap nak hadir program/meeting/usrah (kerja jemaah).

Ni memang betul. Penat tau. Hehe. Balik lewat malam, esok kena pergi kerja pulak. Yang ada anak, angkut anak sekali. Gitu lah. Bukan senang nak senang (syurga Allah). Moga redha Allah bersama.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wallahua’lam.

Off Day

Monday, October 09, 2017

Assalamualaikum. Today is the day i was looking forward past few weeks, because it is an off day. We called it cuti peristiwa since the school held a program yesterday. An off day within the weekdays means less traffics on road.

I had flu since yesterday and just stayed at home till after Zuhr. A lovely housemate told me "yeay anis nak demam". She was excited seeing me because she said i rarely got sick @ fever. Huh. We called 'this' friendship.

I actually planned to have a Chocolate Indulgence today, but the thought of eating already too much cakes recently dismissed the plan.

At first i was undecided whether to go and enjoy books at Dar Hikmah and later had Mocha @ Latte at The Grill beside the library @ Plan B.

At last, i go for Plan B. Went to my favourite's bakery Baker's Cottage and bought Egg Tart on promo and a Danish chocolate roll. Then, i went to the famous Nasi Kak Wook at Sri Gombak, sat at my regular spot and ate my roll. I ordered for Teh Ais and leafed through the book i brought - Saya pun Melayu (Zaid ibrahim). I planned to bring along Yang Singgah dan Pergi (Hafizul Faiz) but since i finished it this morning, i changed it to this one.

* i posted more book reviews on my wordpress blog, click bibliophile page on top and you'll see the link

When the crowd has slowly subsided, i ordered for nasi lauk ayam (tapau) and continued enjoying my book. I was there for 3/4 hour sipping my drinks calmly. It was a fun read. It is a thick autobiography book which i dont want to finish at once. I flipped through the chapters i found interesting first.

Since the two books i recently bought already done cover to cover, i headed to Pustaka Rakyat nearby to buy at least a book. I first found a book - blogging on wordpress, took it and the second book - I'm a Backpacker Turkey. This will be the third backpacker's collection in hand. The previous two was Germany and ... (i forgot)

a simple girl

I was delighted with this new one, because i used to learn their language last year through an application and You Tube channel. I learnt the vocabs and a bit of grammar.
I wrote 'used to' , because it has been months since i last opened the app and had even unistalled it. But since i already have an account ,everytime i re-installed, just have to key in my username and it'll bring you to the last learning level you have achieved. I even borrowed a Turkish book  and tried hard to understand the language. Therefore, this backpacker book has something to relate with me, at least. hehe. The flu is getting worse, so i quickly make payment and left.

I also planned to wash the bike today but since there is not enough cash, maybe next time.

Actually i have to prepare the slide for tonight's meeting, so i guess i'll stop here.

With love,
anispauzi

Fastaqim

Jamaah is like you pray in jamaah and you will get more reward from Allah (27 times) compared if you pray alone.

That was exactly my answer when my naqibah asked what do we know about jamaah in a secluded surau at Mahallah Zainab Jahsy Block C.

Little did I know from that moment onwards, that single word will change my life.

5 years later.

I graduated from IIUM not only as an alumni but also the member of a jamaah. I wasnt fluent in this thingy, could be because i wasnt from an islamic school and had zero knowledge about this at first.

Jamaah? It means congregational prayer.

Now, a jamaah has a huge contribution in shaping my version now. Alhamdulillah. I was in debt to my jamaah for showing me the way.

Although it is sad now seeing my seniors @ ustaz ustazah whom delivered taujihat to us once had chosen another, i pray that Allah will guide us until we breathe our final.

When i was in campus, many speakers came and unanimously said that the numbers will decrease especially after graduation.

Work and marriage has been one of the main contributing factors unfortunately. Astaghfirullah.

The single anis is praying for the future married anis, may Allah affirm her steadfastness to jamaah and help her with His bounties to the  end.

Allahummarzuqna istiqamah. Aamin.

Surah al Waqi'ah

Friday, September 22, 2017

Bismillah.
Pendek kata, murah rezeki.

As Sajdah pulak, dah hafal banyak kali masa kat uia, tapi kalau nak tasmi' sekarang ni, memang tak lancar lagi. Astaghfirullah.

Betullah kata pepatah ni,

Menghafal di usia muda ibarat menulis di atas batu, menghafal di usia tua ibarat menulis di atas air.

Pernah sekali, bosan kat rumah tunggu keputusan SPM dan buku yang ada semua dah baca (masa tu koleksi buku belum bertimbun lagi),  bagitau ayah nak pergi beli Reader's Digest di Kota Bharu. Masa tu ayah marah-marah  sebab ayah ada kerja kena siapkan malam tu, tapi ayah turutkan jugak. Anis pun baca lah surah ni kuat-kuat atas motosikal untuk melayan kesedihan sebab kena marah. Ayah anis bekeng tau hehe. (Kalau naik moto, biasanya suara orang belakang tak dengar sebab deru angin yang sama kuat)

Masa lain, dulu pernah jatuh motor waktu hujan baru reda (jalan licin) depan stadium sayyidina hamzah uia, dan habis basah tudung sebab darah banyak.

Terima kasih Ya Rahman. Alhamdulillah thumma alhamdulillah.

Selamat beramal.

Hujan

Monday, September 18, 2017
Hari ni hujan. Tak berhenti dari tengah hari. Masih hujan lagi ni.

Doa waktu hujan,
" Allahumma soyyiban nafi'a "

Siapa suka hujan?
Ya Allah, kalau hujan waktu Subuh@pagi-pagi, mesti rasa sayu sendu sikit. Sebab teringat bau-bauan hujan waktu sekolah, naik bas @ van sekolah berebut-rebut, belajar dalam kelas pun nyaman je sebab sejuk hehehe

Bila dah besar ni, kalau hujan, cepat je terlintas kenangan-kenangan masa belajar manis dan tak manis. Hehe.

Dulu, masa belajar, anis suka sangat baca buku teks. Biasanya anis baca buku teks ni waktu malam. Waktu hujan pun best jugak, sambil-sambil minum air savanah @ radix. Allah.. Rindunya. Buku cerita pun baca jugak. Masa tu bawak balik buku Conan Doyle - Sherlock Holmes, tercicir atas bas balik kampung.

Alamak, tiba-tiba pulak cerita pasal buku. Maafin.

Puisi Buat Orang Merindu

Thursday, September 14, 2017

Orang-orang yang merindu, namun tetap menjaga kehormatan perasaannya, takut sekali berbuat dosa, memilih senyap, terus memperbaiki diri hingga waktu memberikan khabar baik.

Melaka School Trip

Wednesday, September 13, 2017

So, i was selected to accompany Year 4 students for their annual trip. Destination; Malacca. Actually,  this is my fourth time and i was not really keen to go hehe. Astaghfirullah.

We departed from school at 8a.m, stopped for toilet 15 minutes and arrived at our first stop, Kilang Koko Minda, Merlimau at 11.15a.m. They showed the production line, packaging and entertained us with slide shows and cocoa drinks 😋

packing into sachets

We proceed to Masjid Selat Melaka for Jamak Takdim Zohor and Asar and had a delayed lunch there. The caterer's suddenly got a heart attack and the boss called for Uber and took some time. We sat under trees shade and crows everywhere. While eating, a female student got shocked, a crow just landed its waste on her hand and food. What a drama. Its lucky we have extra food.

10 minutes before 3 p.m, we moved to the next stop at Rumah Terbalik. I was a bit 'bersungguh' to see the upside down house. And, here they are! Check the photos of my students. We're only allowed 30 minutes inside. The place is like a house, all being upside down. I was startled when we first entered, the staff told, " Okay, this is how you should take the photos.. Alright, you may start now 😅".

did it look real to you??

wow. the trishaw parked good there :D

Next, Menara Taming Sari. I decided not to follow them into the 'spinning wheel', because i already had once. But, the other teachers said, all free (already paid) so i went. I tell you, once is enough. It was boring but it's worth the ticket price if you go for the first time. We were separated into two groups, girls team went first.

Menara Taming Sari done. It was 5p.m. Then, we walked to A Famosa City, took some photos, bought souvenirs and left. Oh, two students in another group(we walked in groups led by a teacher) went missing and the teacher in charge was furious 😱 At last, there they were!

Last, we went to a market nearby A Famosa to buy additional souvenirs 😅 I just bought a shirt for kid and some kerepek.

at souvenirs coach near A Famosa

At about 630 p.m, we boarded the bus again heading back home. All were exhausted and..hungry. Teachers distributed bread and mineral water for students before we stop at R&R for dinner and solat.

We prayed and had dinner at R&R Seremban at 8.30pm and was there for an hour before we proceed home. We arrived at Al Huda's school compound at 11 p.m alhamdulillah 😊

LGBT

Tuesday, September 12, 2017

Today, I have a one day workshop on LGBT.  Two speakers were invited, one teaching on the subject at uni and the other one is in the field himself.

L - Lesbian
G - Gay
B - Bisexual
T - Transgender

I rarely took part in knowing more about this group before, only get the surface information on who are they like.

And, surviving a day workshop on this, my eyes opened big and wide realising the ugly and heartbreaking truth in our community.

Theres a lot more to be done and many more dakwah methods to be explored. Among the things that i can share;

- We have to treat the root cause of them being LGBT
- One people having this issue cannot be generalised, because their reasons differed and has to be handled gently and in-person
- Identifying the patterns at a young age
- Avoid judging instead give support and help

This is not a branch issue, it is a big one 😞

Few of the reasons i could mention;
- Rooted from family problem, less affection
- Friends' influence
- Financial problem
- Sexual abuse

I benefited a lot from today's discussion and realised many more jobs awaiting the dua't.

May Allah helps us.
