Jaulah Tarbawiyyah to KOMTAQ

Assalamualaikum.

On 25th Jan, I joined a jaulah to Kompleks Tahfiz Al-Quran Al-Qaradhawi (KOMTAQ) in Temerloh, Pahang. 'Twas on Thursday, public holiday for Thaipusam and since we are very close to the kuil, we were reminded beforehand to plan the route to avoid heavy traffic to the gathering point, PKG.

So, around 7.15 am i departed from home and was surprised to see the traffic was okay. Good. The bus started off from gombak as planned, at 8 a.m and the committee distributed our breakfast on the bus (bihun goreng sedap+karipap+kuih2 sampingan). Haha there was a lot of food.

We arrived at 10 am and were escorted to the auditorium. I was amazed and jakun kejap sebab dia punya audi tu adalah for sitting. Nice.

We were welcomed with nyanyian nasyid from the students (Banat), welcoming speech from the mudir - YB Ust Kamal (Ahli Parlimen Kuala Krau)

The speech was touching - Ustaz shared many things on various topics including his experience so far as a member of the parliament.

Nak jadi kaya, jangan masuk politik (Almarhum TGNA)

Close to 12 noon, we wrapped up and took some photos and headed for jalan-jalan sekitar kompleks and lunch.

I was asked to snap some pics, so i did.

Off we went to lunch ikan patin (yum yum)

Lauk ikan patin is something I like and mom used to cook it at home too, patin tempoyak but i have never had pais patin before so this is the time to try it.

Verdict? Emm, sorry but i dont like the taste so i'll stick with my patin tempoyak but of course i finished it tak baik membazir.

Full alhamdulillah.

Next agenda is Jamak Zohor Asar at the mosque and slot with Ustazah Nafisah @ K. Icah. She was our Naqibah in Gombak before she moved here for good, developing and managing this kompleks.

We dispersed at about 3 pm i think and took last snap of photos. These might be similar pose but different shots haha so i just upload a bunch altogether

Actually, at the kompleks - there are also pondok moden, the elderly people who stayed there in the individual small houses (pondok) free of charge. They only have to pay for the electrical bills. This kompleks also did not charge any amount to all the students in the early days when it opened but some ppl just took advantage of it - after covid or maybe during the covid, students have to pay fees.

KOMTAQ is dedicated to produce students who are not only al hafiz and al hafizah but Syahadah Tahfiz Al Quran. They have no academic syllabus except for BM and BI and the youngest student is 10 years old. Those who wanna sit for SPM, they'll have teachers coming to the kompleks to teach. Any disciplinary issues like mencuri, student will be taken to the balai polis and sent home without warning (already mentioned upon registration).

Last but not least..

I was trying to take a photo with the word komtaq behind but only managed to get the letter Q sebab ramai tengah bergambar okay la

With Wassem, he was a small boy then, following along K Icah to usrah

5pm bertolak dari kedai borong (forgot the name) and headed back to Gombak. Alhamdulillah safely arrived at 7pm. Traffic was fine and i stopped by at Baker's Cottage and Zus to grab my dinner.

That's all for now. Bye.

Ameerah Care January 2024

Saturday, January 20, 2024

Bismillah. Assalamualaikum.

First Ameerah Care program of the year, but this one on a smaller scale. We received info on one young lady whose house got damaged due to ribut kuat recently and we went to ziarah and donation.

Since we just went to a single house, there's only few of us who joined.

Arrived at her house in AU3 Hulu Klang around 10am. She stayed with her twin and both of their parents already passed away, her mom during Covid-19.

We chatted for a while and she showed us the damage to the roofs. The cost to repair was around RM12K and it took one month for her and the twin staying out of the house because it was unsafe.

The interesting part, she is the mommy to 30 cats. yeah i repeat 30. The cats actually had a cat house right in front of the house but due to some issues, they can no longer stayed there for now and being housed in a room inside the house.

As someone who is scared of cats, i do not at any time go near the cat room haha. My other friends did and took some pics.

A small donation from Ameerah Care. Thank you to all the contributors.

The cat house. Quite big i think.

Some photos before we left. Thank you for the hospitality.

And then i had Iced Caramello Cappucino @ Richiamo Coffee, UIA and finished the book i was currently reading. Love the ambience, as always ;)

That's it. Till then. Bye.

Senna (2010)

Saturday, January 20, 2024

Hi.

During the winter break of Formula 1, i watched this documentary of Ayrton Senna, a Brazilian F1 racing driver. He won three World Drivers Championships (WDC) - setting 65 poles and 41 GP wins.

I knew he was the one who LH looked up to, but only when i watched the docu - i learnt that he died during a race - an accident in San Marino Grand Prix 1994.

He was only 34 back then, and before the race he actually was undecided to race or not to race for the GP due to the weather condition i think at that time which caused another driver's incident just before that. He was fighting for the racing safety as well.

He actually died on the scene which was a grave incident for the motor racing.

Halo - the invention introduced in 2018 greatly proven to save many lifes of the drivers although it received lots of negative feedback in the initial stages.

Amongst the incident that could be fatal to driver was the Romain Grosjean whom now referred as the man who walked out of the fire - he eventually decided to retire after that.

The docu also covered the tension between Senna and Prost during those period of times.

Loved the docu. Need more of this kind of documentary. A great watch!

Sukan PASTI 2023

Sunday, November 26, 2023

Assalamualaikum.

Today, I volunteered as petugas for Sukan PASTI (SUKPA) this year and as has been practised some years now, the event is split into three dun - Gombak Setia (GS), Hulu Kelang (HK) and Sungai Tua (ST) respectively. And the venue for GS this year for the first time is in front of my house - SMK Sg Pusu :)

Persiapan program di padang the day before.

The field was extra muddy due to the rain and even worse than last year's venue at Pinggiran BC.

Gerak dari rumah around 7.30 am and the traffic was as expected and stucked for 20 minutes i think. We were told earlier there may not be enough parkings for the petugas inside the school and all the parents are not allowed to park inside too. But, i just tried and asked the petugas Jabatan AMAL if I could go in, he said no. Then, i was trying to park roadside in front of the school gate and the pakcik seeing me struggling to double park knocked my window and said i can park inside hihi much appreciated!

Yeah, we arrived earlier for another set of preparation (not much) before perbarisan started. Basically, we were tasked for Kumpulan 4 Tahun. There's a lot of waiting, and guess what the field's condition was no where near better than yesterday bcoz of the late night rain. Life goes on, anyhow just to be extra careful not to get feet locked in the mud.

We had nasi lemak for breakfast and I was a tad angry haha knowing there's no water bottle being distributed (i brought my own normally everywhere but they always always - yes that's no typo, have water given out to volunteers all this while) - later on, learnt that there's misscomm within the petugas and the wanted water bottle only arrived at the field at noon, right when i was leaving the venue.

Posing with all the volunteers for Acara 4 Tahun, SUKPA GS :)

There were altogether four categories and separated for the boys and the girls - total of eight rounds. The nice thing this year - they revamped all the acara from previous years and 'twas good watching the new games.

It was funny - I saw one parent brought the child for the boys games - and I told him, no encik - sekarang ni acara untuk boys dulu, acara girls next - the child still lined up and i quickly realized anaknya lelaki adoi, cuma rambut panjang sikit macam girls and apologized. Sorry. Pastu baru teringat kan pelajar perempuan kat PASTI semua pakai tudung :D

One with K Ina..

and lastly,

The after effects of padang penuh selut..

And, i rushed home and get ready for home tuition at 3pm with Aniq.

That's all for now. Bye.

Assalamualaikum.

It's Saturday and I joined this program today.

10.30 am - off to the Brainy Bunch Sports Park with Malini

Arrived there around 11.10 am (fetched another friend on the way).

Some of the committees already arrived and we started the warming up at 11am and everyone is free to play. The concept is play for fun and not tournament.

Here are some shots of the day..

We played until 1 pm before gathered around for a short closing speech and a lucky draw, with the number 1 prize is an air fryer.

Snapping pics in between..

Whilst waiting for the closing..

IIUM clans..

All the participants..

The organising committees (with many others cannot join but completed the jobs beforehand).

Ending my day with iced coffee.

Thank you to everyone involved.
