Vaccination Story

Friday, August 13, 2021

Hai everyone. Assalamualaikum.

Here goes my story..

I waited for some time for my name to be listed on the vaccination and finally i got the appointment.

The first jab was on the second day of eidul adha, 21st July 2021 at Stadium Bukit Jalil. I've never been there before and it was my first time. And i dont know there is a lrt line straight to the stadium.

So, in the morning i went out around 7 am with Malini (M) to her workplace in Jalan Raja Chulan. Then, i took a Grab to the stadium. I arrived quite early and by 8.30 am, i was already inside. The appointment was at 9 am.

There were like few check points/stations you have to pass.

It was quick and completed before 9 am. Smooth ain't it.

The journey back home took some time because only close to 11 i arrived.

Gombak to Bukit Jalil is around an hour by car, so by train it takes longer.

For second dose, pretty much same story except that M accompanied me there and afterwards we went to grab some food.. i bought shawarma. Ya Allah, it was scrumptious. I must repeat!

Alhamdulillah 'ala kulli hal.

Did i feel any pain or side effects?

Honestly, nope. Maybe just that numb feeling at the shoulder but none other.

Oh yeah, mine is Sinovac. All Bukit Jalil gang got Sinovac by the way. It was rumoured that those taking Sinovac will have to get the third dose. Im just okay. Come what may, i'll take it and you should too.

Pretty brief story. In short, may Allah protect us all from this virus amiin.

Assalamualaikum.

Happy birthday to my dear self.

String of beautiful words to share today for my 29 year old self.

On life - Take it one day at a time, a grain of sand at a time. Live in the moment. Plan, but have no anxiety.

(How to Stop Worrying and Start Living, Dale Carnegie)

On the past - You cannot change the past but you can create the future you want.

On the future - Fret not where the road will take you. Once you take the first step, let everything do what it naturally does and the rest will follow. Do not go with the flow. Be the flow.

(The Forty Rules of Love, Elif Shafak)

On success - It is being able to go to bed each night with your soul at peace.

(Manuscript Found in Accra, Paulo Coelho)

On failures - When life dissappoints, rest a moment. Downcast and heartbroken, I know you were once me and I was once you.

(Manuscript Found in Accra, Paulo Coelho)

On solitude - Being alone without feeling lonely.

(The Forty Rules of Love, Elif Shafak)

On marriage - To be loved and chosen by a good man is the best and sweetest thing which can happen to a woman. It is natural to think of it, right to hope and wait for it, and wise to prepare for it, so when happy time comes, you may feel ready for the duties and worthy of the joy.

(Little Women, Louisa May Alcott)

On motherhood - Mothers may differ in their management, but their hope is the same in all - the desire to see their children happy.

(Little Women, Louisa May Alcott)

On work - I liked my job, and while it isnt perfect, I also liked my life.

(Becoming, Michelle Obama)

On books - I've most of them written on my brains and printed in my heart, and you cannot deprive me of those.

(Wuthering Heights, Emily Bronte)

The Ice Road - Liam Neeson

Thursday, July 22, 2021

Hai. Time for movie review.

The only reason i watched this movie is due to the actor - Liam Neeson.

I knew him from Taken 3 and i enjoyed watching him in action since then.

After a remote diamond mine collapses in far northern Canada, a ‘big-rig’ ice road driver must lead an impossible rescue mission over a frozen ocean to save the trapped miners.

This movie is great in itself but what attracts me more is the fact it entails the story Of Mice and Men (John Steinbeck).

Liam has a younger brother and he's having a difficulties (sort of retard) and causing them to get fired frequently. How Liam is being protective to his brother etc

When i checked the review, it seems the movie didnt have a good one but i dont mind coz personally i liked it.

The frozen road is something to watch because you dont see it everyday.

An ice road (ice crossingice bridge) is a winter road, or part thereof, that runs on a naturally frozen water surface (a river, a lake or an expanse of sea ice) in cold regions. Ice roads allow temporary transport to isolated areas with no permanent road access. They reduce transportation cost of materials that otherwise would ship as expensive air freight, and they allow movement of large or heavy objects for which air freight is impractical.

Im kinda lazy to write some more. So yeah that's it. The other action cast i enjoyed watching is Jason Statham.

Bye. Next post will be on my vaccination story :)

Assalamualaikum.

Raya Qurban 1442H story

Tuesday, July 20, 2021

Assalamualaikum and selamat hari raya to all :D

It is 10th of Zulhijjah today and we celebrated Hari Raya Qurban, alhamdulillah. Second raya away from home. It's my brother's birthday too, July 20th.

So, i'll share how my first day of raya looks like.

Early in the morning, around 9.15 am i pre heat satay i ordered the night before. Ordered from the seller twice already coz the satay is tasty and affordable. 10 sate ayam, 10 sate daging. 4 ketul nasi.

Then, from 10 to 2.30 pm, i settled all the documents for the teacher's application, scanning, downloading, merging docs, editing, filling in the form, upload to drive and lastly write an email. Emm, for this i hold on my trust to Allah alone. If it is good for me, may Allah show the way. If it isnt for me, may Allah show a better way amiin.

Oh, i called my mom in between and she was preparing her signature dish - bihun goreng.

If i chuse to really be a teacher, i would have applied from the start, but even after all these years of teaching (five years to date), im still hoping to work in some place else, at the same time the intention to pursue doctorate and having a professional cert is still there, close in the heart. I love teaching, but not being a teacher. Weird aint it haha

I watched a movie and ate satay again until my family at home video called at 3.30 and we talked for an hour.

After asar, i told malini why not we go and buy something, or precisely Starbucks. Last time i went was early April, before Ramadhan.

The drive through queue was significantly long but we just queued outside joining some others.

We waited for over 20 minutes. Then, i bought ayam uncle bob nearby the parking lot and we ate and drank in the car. It's kinda fun to see there were many others who were like us..leisuring and taking time in the car. Huhu. Makan dalam keta pun jadilah, asalkan boleh keluar

Dont get me wrong. We havent go out together for about three weeks already, starting from PKPD. So, i enjoyed every bits of it.

Sipping Iced Caramel Machiato (should add single shot espresso next time).

counting her blessings

malini said, anis go stand there. she was like, okayy okayy

We arrived home about 7 pm and i vc-ed Asiah until Maghrib. Then, i did some laundry and ironing for tomorrow because i'll have my first dose.

InshaAllah that i'll update here too.

“Fret not where the road will take you. Instead concentrate on the first step. That’s the hardest part and that’s what you are responsible for. Once you take that step let everything do what it naturally does and the rest will follow. Do not go with the flow. Be the flow.” -Forty Rules of Love, Elif Shafak

Hai all. These are the songs that i recently got to know. All owing to the mco that you got extra leisure time haha

Im just a little bit caught in the middle

Life is a maze and love is a riddle

I dont know where to go

Cant do it alone i've tried... (The Show, Lenka)

Trouble is a friend

But trouble is a foe.. (Trouble is a friend, Lenka)

It's been written in the scars on our hearts

We're not broken just bent

And we can learn to love again .. (Just give me a reason, Pink & Nate Ruess)

Everybody hurts sometimes

Everybody hurts someday

But everything gon' be alright

Go and raise a glass and say ... (Memories, Maroon 5)

How could we not talk about family

When family's all that we got

Everything I went through

You were standing there by my side... (See You Again, Wiz Khalifa & Charlie Puth)

Quick update. Today is the first of Zulhijjah. And this is the fifth year in a row that im in charge for qurban aqiqah under iPrisma (IIUM alumni). We had a meeting last night and lasted until before midnight.

Tonight, i have to settle and compile reports for the monthly meeting on the morrow's night. Oh yeah, have to send a report for the receivers of Ameerah Care July to negeri. Have to write a report too.

Monday will be another start for the week. I will have only a class at 12 pm. I need to copy and forward all the class links in the telegram at night for 4 Ibnu Haitham, my class this year.

Next, i have to download all the attendance for last week and tick it. Lesson plan already submitted on Friday.

What else?

Oh yeah, im revisiting Pride and Prejudice (my second time) and just arrived at the part where Mr Darcy confessed his love to Elizabeth Bennet and got rejected.

Poor Mr Darcy.

And, it's been raining these days, from afternoon till night. That's why today i went out to pick for food earlier, around 2 pm before it pours down. I wanted to buy Popia Sayur but the makcik hasnt opened her stall just yet, too early maybe.

I had my Nasi Ayam Penyet Thigh plus Iced Nescafe whilst watching Detective Conan Movie. Then, i sorted out the names for Ameerah Care, submitted it and was rejected (rejections everywhere haha) due to incorrect format. That's why i'll redo it tonight.

Next, i called few colleagues to finalise on the donation for the teachers affected with covid and other cases.

I had a meeting at 5.15pm but have to postpone because one of us cant join.

The list goes on on...but i still have time to eat read and watch some movies. So im good alhamdulillah. Thank you Allah :)

Oh yeah, i called my mom too in between those ongoings today! Perfecto.
