Shiqptar di Champs Elysees

Assalamualaikum.

When i first came across this book, my tongue told me that it never pronounced those words :p

I really want to read this book when it freshly launched, but never got the chance to @ isnt it because i didnt take the chance to buy the book?? Either one. haha.

So, I was surprised seeing this book in my house last week. Thanks to my housemate. :D

Wanna know my first impression seeing this book when it was launched?

I was hooked by the cover page. it looks awesome :D

Dr. Maszlee Malik, the author is an IIUM lecturer and he is visible in the campus. I believe that if you're the IIUM alumni, you happened to cross path with him at least once in uia.

Okay okay, am writing the content now. hehe. what a lengthy introduction :)

I'll pick some points worthy to share.

SHQIPTAR refers to an Albanian.

CHAMPS ELYSEES is a place in Paris, the so-called City of Love.

In brief, this is a novel with two main characters; Anela (Shqiptar) and Rafi (Malaysian).

They studied at the same uni, University al Bayt, Jordan and happened to meet again after about 10 years at an airport.

Anela is a single mother with a daughter, while Rafi is blessed with two kids and an expectant wife.

And.. there the story blends, when Anela started to pour over all her life stories to Rafi whom she hasnt met for years and Rafi, once a Naqib among his colleagues was no longer the old Rafi. The old Rafi who will not meet a woman face to face nor eye to eye.

The second part I wanna note here is about BESA. BESA to Shqiptar is like an oath. Once he vows BESA, he can never go back. Eg: Anela vows BESA not to drink alcohol. And, once she made that BESA, she must hold to it until death. It shows a high integrity among Shqiptar.

It's you for me and me for you for all of our days
You told me you swore yourself to me always
And as I see you, my love
Right now I feel in me
The ryhthm of my heart

The third part is, on how the author write about a jemaah that he once belonged. Personally, i thank him for his arguments but pardon me, i cannot accept his. I knew so well the jemaah he was criticizing. And, i was stunned how could he say those things. huu.

Next, the author include luxurious information on history sometimes i skipped the pages. haha. By the way, about the first 50 pages failed to arouse my interest. I was somewhat dissappointed since i couldnt get what is this book all about then. I even complained to my friend that this book isnt suitable for light reading if anyone happened to think so.

The last part is about a married man who suddenly falls in love @ attracted to another woman. The author says do not open the Pandora Box. Once it is opened, you cant close it :'(

Hmm.. is that the only things in the novel? Nope! There's lots more you should dig in yourself. Read for a better world :)

That's all for now.
Thanks for reading :)

Life Stories that We Share

Bismillah.

Once, when i was at school, i want to finish my SPM exam fast, because i wanna go to university.

I wanna get rid of the bored school uniform 😅 i thought; a part of being a uni student , is able to wear different clothes to class everyday. Haha. And when i reached uni life, i told myself, " why do i need to change uniforms everyday + had to do ironing everyday 😝. It would be easier if i wore same clothes to class. No need to spend time just to think what to wear today (typical women thinking 😌)

I cant wait to go to uni just to feel the coolness of being in a big lecture theatre that has many stairs and focusing to the lectures. It looks so cool in the tv and sounds good in the novel. But, when i reached uni, at times i favoured normal size class better. Haha. Only then i realised the size of a class is parallel to the number of students. More students, bigger class-size. Hence, need to work more to grab the lecturer's attention & less focus & need cooperation from all senses. If you sit at the back, you need to shout to ask question & beware, because all eyes will stare at you 😂

I thougt that exams in unis aint difficult for one reason. In uni, we learn for a course within 4-6 months in a semester and we'll sit for the final at the end of that few months. For SPM, the questions will cover what you learnt in that two years of upper secondary. 2 years challenging the brain non-stop for the big exam. Thus, my brain was telling me, exams @ uni will be easyyy. Hahahah. Once i had my exams there, only then i have answers to my train of thoughts before. 😁😁

Thats how life is.
Often times, we forgot to be grateful for what we have now and only realised the beauty of it, once it passed our memory lane 💓

This is only an excerpt from many life stories that I believe we all share.

The moral is: Appreciate the moments that we are creating today and live through it. The time will come when you moved into another phase of life and looking back to your momentos, you'll feel a deep missing and wanting to return to the old times and you'll unconsciously tell yourself ;" How time flies... " 😊

Short Tazkirah : Jaga Solat

Sunday, March 26, 2017

Bismillah. Assalamualaikum. 😊

Jaga Solat.

Allah Maha Mengetahui.

Time Zone

Assalamualaikum.

How are you? Im doing good alhamdulillah :)

I regularly wrote at another 2 blogs, hence this site is somewhat neglected. hehe. Pardon me :p

Recently, i came across a FB Post about "Time Zone". It is a beautiful writing and i give 100% mark. hihi

The gist that i can share with you as of now is, everyone is living in their own special timezone. Yes, me and you. We are riding our own time-plane ;)

We need not envy what others is having right now, but surely we can put effort to achieve that.

What?? You dont get it? hehe. Okay, i'll try to elaborate as precise as possible.

I'll just give you an example.

Situation 1:

A completed his degree at the age of 22 years old, but have to wait  years for employment.

B completed his degree at the age of 27 years old, but got employed immediately after graduation.

Situation 2:

A got married at the age of 20 and delivered first baby 10 years later.

B got married at the age of 25 and delivered her baby the same year.

it's raining. get in the house quick :p

Yes, sometimes we might get carried away with the surrounding. That's why we need to stand on a firm ground.

The firm ground im talking here relate directly with BIG WHY. When the vision is clear, there's nothing else that can move you. Seriously.

People around might be talking, but you'll face it nonchalantly once you are firm and clear about yourself. A firm faith is also included :)

When you realise that Allah has better plans for you, you'll just follow the flow that Allah is crafting for you. Thats the beauty being a Moslem. You'll always find good sides of whatever befalls, or in other words, 'hikmah'.

And, last but not least, to be POSITIVE. I'm in love with this word so much. hahah.

Till then. Wassalam.

The Power of Mindset

Saturday, January 14, 2017
Assalamualaikum and good morning .

To relate with the title, i will share a story of my past, in sha Allah :)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When i was waiting for my SPM result, i wrote a page of my future. I was barely 18 years old back then.

I wrote it (typed in word), print and paste on my log book. That logbook is still there today and everytime i returned home, i will go through the pages again and again.

One of the thing that I recalled;

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I wrote these;
-i enroll into IIUM matriculation centre
- i completed my study there for only a year
- it is because I got exemption from English classes which shorten my length of stay at matric
- I enrolled into accounting degree though I never learnt any such subjects at school
- I study hard to compete with my friends who have accounting background in school
-I got award for Best Student for Taxation subject during my convocation
- I was hired by PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PWC), a well known and credible accounting firm in the country
-I am now pursuing my study for ACCA with full scholarship from PWC
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How i was able to write such in details when i dont even know where IIUM is located, what more with the test , PWC, ACCA, taxation??
Answer: I read a magazine and copy paste the success from a sister, who is an IIUM-alumni :)

Alhamdulillah,
Years later.

+ I really enrolled to Centre for Foundation Studies, IIUM
+ I got exempted for English Placement Test (EPT). I was among the 100++ got the exemption among thousands of new students
+ Hence, i got to finish my study at CFS for only a year, instead of a year and a half @ two years for majority of the students
+ I took ICT major at CFS, but later changed to Accounting during my second semester at Gombak
+ I scored for my first accounting course; i went then and again to consult the lecturer since that was my first time experience learning accounting
+ I didnt stay long at Bachelor of Accounting (BACC), shifted to Islamic Finance major
+ I was listed as one of the many recipients of Rector's List during 31st IIUM Convocation
+ I didnt take ACCA but planning to have my IFP certificate one day

+ And, here I am today, writing to you :D

:)

Alhamdulillah.
97% of those who write their goals will achieve what they targeted, biidznillah :)
Think good, the good will come :)

Wallahua'lam.
May Allah bless us all
May Allah shower us with His infinite sustenance
May Allah guide us towards His path
May Allah grant us good health
May Allah grant us a good and well-spent life
May Allah grant us the best spouse
May Allah grants us beautiful kids
May Allah unite us in paradise
Say ameen :)
