School Trips Memoirs

Wednesday, March 13, 2019

Assalamualaikum 🌸

What my youngest sister said hit me.
I knew that feeling when everyone else or at least your close friends all joined school trips but you weren’t. I understood that much, because I myself have never been there during my primary school until i was Form 5.

Oh yes, i did go to a day school trip to Terengganu few times during my secondary school but let’s nit count that one 😂 We went to the exact same places every time. There was one time when i eas chosen for the trip and need not to pay, all sponsored. I feel honoured then. Alhamdulillah.

I recalled one time when all my close friends went to few days school trip to Langkawi and i didnt join them, dont have money and me being a good kid, was just fine and knowing that i dont afford it, i was fine. But, the thing is when they returned, and kept discussing among themselves about the trip, how fun it was etc; there’s a thing i learnt that i carry forward to secondary school until now: which is not to boast around/discussing things in front of fellow friends who cant afford it @ dont have it yet.

For example, i was frequently chosen to represent my school (lower form), for competitions. And i chose not to talk about it in front of my friends who were not chosen. I was being low key about everything and i learnt that young and in a hard way ❤️

So, being a big sister i always coax my younger siblings positively. At times, when we could afford it, of course i am happier to see them join such trips ☺️

Alhamdulillah ‘ala kulli hal.

Positive Vibes from Master Chef

Wednesday, March 13, 2019

Recently i watched Master Chef whole series for season 4 and 5. Just completed watching the finale yesterday. And, i believed i learnt a lot, although it is just a culinary competition. I’m picking one of them to write here today. Mind you, those seasons were old series, five years back but i just happened to watch it this year.

Luca, an Italian guy residing in New York who was a Restaurant Manager. He was not successful for the first audition and he waited for a year for the next audition. He is an example of a very positive guy and if he’s a Muslim, he’ll be a good one 😊

He failed once in the audition but he didn’t give up and tried for the next year audition. Still, he failed to do his best and one of the judges disliked his food during the tasting. He managed to proceed to get the renowned Master Chef apron when the other two judges voted for yes.

He went on being a rather clumsy cook during the early episodes and he almost had to put off his apron. On one of the episodes, he had to fight head to head with another cook, and whoever wins will get through. He did! It was a narrow escape, really. And who would have ever taught he’ll be the nexf Master Chef.

oh, what a positive person he is!
During the cooking fight, two people wanted to borrow something from him and in both occasion, he lent them without thinking twice.

The judges disagreed saying that it might cost him, but naah he's just being himself :)

yeah, he got to publish his own cook book!

He didn’t shine all the way through the competition but he grew with it, unlike Natasha, who was strong front the early on. It was also a surprise that she didn’t deliver at the finale. By and large, what’s meant to be, will be ❤️

We can all learn from the surroundings and the things we watched, read and hear only of we really open our eyes and minds InshaAllah.

Coffee Lover

Monday, March 04, 2019

Last week, went to Secret Recipe for a slice of indulgence cake and a cup of flat white coffee which i wont order next time. Flat white is super creamy that you dont get to taste the coffee but more to the creaminess. My no 1 for now is cappuccino ☺️☕️

awesome 😎

This week gonna be the dreaded week because i have a seven hours class on wednesday. It will be a loooong day and yeahh.. i have to adapt to it. No choice. Three hours in the morning and then  from 2-6 pm. I collapsed right away last time upon arriving home but this week we’ll see how :)

March comes too soon when im yet to get ready for everything taking place this month 😂

Journey to Kedah

Sunday, March 03, 2019

Bismillah. tonight im gonna write a year delayed post about me attending a friend’s wedding in Kedah. It was in April, 2018. I meant to write it earlier but naah, i didnt. It was a story i wanted to remember because it was such a memory to me hahaha (okay, actually it’s not funny at all but worth to reminisce)

I already planned a month before that i’ll be attending the wedding in Kedah and im going there alone, just me. So, i planned to purchase online tickets through easybooking.com. I searched for it days and weeks before and there, i saw many empty seats. I even dont close the tab on my phone just to check the availability of seats frequently. I have been to Kedah just a month before for a school event, so i can quite know where i’m heading. But, the poor thing was i didnt purchase the ticket right away. I was like, it’s okay, i’ll buy it when the time is right. Slap me on my face :p #MistakeNo1

The night came when i’ll board the bus. Last bus for trip to Kedah is usually at 12 midnight, for six hours trip. After Magrib, i was still lazing around at home, scrolling available tickets and i decided to purchase it at the counter after seeing lots of available seats. #MistakeNo2

Then, after Isyak prayer i booked a transporter from uia to tbs and i checked the available seats and my heart was pounding nervously – there were almost none trips or seats available anymore. I was really praying it was a false alarm. I immediately queued at the counter and obviously there were overwhelming number of people. And, my nightmare presented itself when i read the notice - all trips to utara were full and the staff confirmed the earliest trip available the next day is at 10 a.m. Yeah.. i felt dejected, silly and.. you name it.

I told no one about this and there i was.. sleeping at the bench nearest to surau. (Surau @ TBS is closed from 12am to 5 am) I was so frightened being alone there and people kept passing by and i knew no one and i shouldnt trust anyone. There were people sleeping left and right of me. I clutched to my bag pack and eyeing people suspiciously and cant quite believe what’s happening. If ever my parents found out about me being there, alone, i’ll get angry scowls definitely. Then, a foreigner man came near and try to sit next to me and i was so uncomfortable and scared that i decided let’s just sit on the floor. It was cold for sure and i cant even sleep a bit and see the clock ticking so slowly.

Subuh came finally and i went for the prayer and only then, i managed to get some sleep while waiting for the bus. I showered and change clothes in the toilet, and obviously i’ll go to the wedding in my casual clothes this time. Looking inappropriate of course, but no choice.

I took the 10 am bus and arrived around 4 p.m at a place i knew not, in front of a Chinese shop. Luckily, when i searched for GRAB, the wedding hall was nearby. Lastly, i arrived at the hall when the buffet was almost cleared up and me, not looking and wearing my best and tagging along with my small luggage. Exhaustion eats me up. What a journey!

The thing is, that was the last time we met :'(

Family Time

Monday, February 18, 2019

This one is actually another delayed post. Im kinda feeling lethargic to write here, but this one deserved a post.

Last Chinese New Year hols, i took my family to dining outside, just a simple short dinner. My brothers and i were looking for the best place to bring mom to eat, cozy enough and with suitable food. And finally we found one quite near to our house.

It was a fun evening and i am contented to see mom smiling face 😍

surely we’ll repeat 😋
