Assalamualaikum.
Today is the 7th day of Ramadhan (at the time of writing) and i will share my Ramadhan stories here. I just wanna write as much i could during this PKP haha. Now it is the fourth phase of PKP and one major improvement is, 2 family members are allowed to go out buying for groceries etc instead of only 1 before.
Emm, lets start with Ramadhan in
my alma mater, the place responsible in transforming me into who i am today.
During degree period, i stayed in
Mahallah Asma - for 3.5 years. I went to class on foot and to me at that time,
owning a vehicle (especially a car) was
a luxury. So yeah, since i have no motorbikes/car, most of the time i
will pray solat tarawih at the surau mahallah @ multi purpose hall (MPH).
Usually the mahallah will appoint an imam for the sisters’ mahallah. I rarely
go for iftar at the mosque as well for some reasons.
During masters period, i stayed
at Mahallah Halimah – for 1.5 years and alhamdulillah, at that time, i have a
motorbike. Yeay! Easier to commute because this mahallah is quite far from
centre. And i chose to go for tarawih at Surau Mahallah Ruqayyah. Ruqayyah is
the mahallah mostly for international students including brothers. You wouldnt
see local brothers here. So, some of the international brothers pray here – and
i loved it because the imam’s voice was so lovable.
Staying at Baitul Solehah (BS), i
had three times of Ramadhan there, 2017-2019. Every year, my housemates and i
will pray sunat tarawih at Masjid as Syarif Simpang 3, just nearby our house.
One thing i loved going to the
mosque during Ramadhan due to the imams’ beautiful recitations. You dont mind
the rakaah because you are enjoying it and sometimes understanding the meaning
makes it feel much better.
Ramadhan is also the month we
want to double our Quran recitation especially during this PKP, i stressed on
myself to khatam because i am fully staying at home. The years before, if i
dont make it for khatam, usually there’ll be only few juzuk left – majority due
to the days during menses. My practice is i will recite a juzuk per day and
will increase it to back up the days when i couldnt fast.
Bye for now,
