Hi all. I'm in awe with this movie. The pirates really did a good job - i was completely scared of them. It made me googled them because i wanna see them without the pirates faces on especially the head pirate (Abduwali Muse) haha and the movie was his debut. The casts were exceptional! Highly recommended. Film genre is thriller.
He made his acting debut as Somali pirate Abduwali Muse in the biographical drama film Captain Phillips, which earned him a British Academy Film Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role, along with Academy Award, Golden Globe Award, and Screen Actors Guild Award nomination.
He really deserved it; he's so scary and real in the film.
One funny thing was when i realised Capt. Philips played by Tom Hanks haha adoi tak perasan a.k.a Forrest Gump (run, Forrest run!)
I downloaded the movie only for one reason - i thought it was an aviation story, by the name Captain. And then when the movie progressed, i was like .. wait, where's the plane.. haha.. it was the captain of a ship by the way
Towards the ending, when it gets more intense and when you know the hero will be safe and sound and there's nothing to worry about and how it is still a story and the hero will not die; it calmed your nerves a bit, knowing Capt. Philips will be safe.
But one thing i didnt know and only knew after watching the after credits - when the movie finished - 'TWAS BASED ON A TRUE STORY.
Whattttt? That shocked me for real.
And increased my respect to everyone involved immensely. Captain Philips actually lived to tell the story.
